Back in 2005-2006, I wondered if I could make a little pocket money doing surveys online. I registered on nearly every survey site around, and received a lot of spam in my in-box. 99% of the sites turned out to be useless. I wanted to give my opinion on products, not get a credit report, a discount on the new fat burning product, or a free month of NetFlix. However, 2 sites turned out to be pretty good and I actually made some money using them.

NB: If you decide to sign up on any of these 2 sites, please ask me to refer you. I will get a few cents for it, and while it's not much, it's still something.

Here's how they work:

www.inboxdollars.com

This site will send you e-mails nearly every day for you to read. Basically, what you do is just click a link at the bottom of the page saying you have read the e-mail. Then, they deposit money on your account with a few cents each time.
Also, they are a portal to other websites such as drugstore.com and Amazon. You access these websites (and many more) through a link on their page, and when you complete your purchase, they give you back a certain percentage of the total.

Remember that if you don't need something and don't buy it, you are better off than buying something you think you need (but really do not) for a lower price. In my case, I only buy cruelty-free household products and they are hard to find around here (or expensive). So every few months I use Drugstore.com and get 5% back on every purchase, not counting the 5% Drugstore.com gives me back on future purchases. I also needed a bookshelf last semester, which I got from homedecorators.com and using the portal saved me about $10.

Total gain:
I joined the website in January 2006. 2 years later, I have earned about $86 or $43/year.
It's not a stellar amount, but every little bit counts.

www.mysurvey.com

This is only a survey site. They don't pay much, but you are guaranteed to earn something if you fill them, unlike many websites that just enter your name in a drawing where you have a minuscule change of winning.
I don't remember when I joined this site, but it was probably in January 2006 as well. So far, I have earned $40. In addition, they have sent me free products to sample such as a full bottle of shampoo and butter crackers.
